Ancient Mediterranean Religion

Both Classical Studies and the Department of Religious Studies offer graduate coursework in this area taught by specialists in Greek and Roman, as well as religions of the Eastern Mediterranean world and early Christianity. A concentration in this area draws upon these offerings as well as related work in History, Art History, and Archaeology.

Ancient Political Culture

This concentration draws on departmental offerings and courses in History. It explores the many faces of political power, and the changing lives and identities of citizens in the turbulent, but seminal, periods of Archaic and Classical Greece, the Hellenistic Age and the Roman Republic and Empire.

Ancient Studies Minor

The Ancient Studies Minor provides an opportunity for students to diversify their curriculum and to contextualize the Classical world in a broad theoretical and disciplinary context.
