Ellis Library houses extensive holdings in Classical literature, Archaeology, and ancient history, and contains a full range of Classical periodicals and serials.

The Walter Miller Departmental Library, adjacent to departmental offices, keeps a good working collection of texts and reference works.

The MU Museum of Art and Archaeology contains one of the finest collections of ancient Mediterranean artifacts in the Midwest. Greek, Roman, and Near Eastern art and society are particularly well captured, with significant holdings as well from ancient Syria, Egypt and Byzantium.

The departments of Classical Studies and Art History and Archaeology offer exciting opportunities for archeological excavation abroad.
